In 2009, a small group of Dutch biologists rounded up some lab mice, stabbed them with needles, and harvested their blood. After reading dozens of papers on this topic, I can’t help but feel that I wasted part of my life injecting chubby mice with drugs. For every 5,000 drug compounds tested in mice, five move into human studies.
