I started my journey in chemistry – first as an undergraduate and then in my PhD programme at the University of Houston, where I focused on organicchemistry and nucleic acids chemistry. I originally wanted to be a doctor but that’s a second-tier track in France. We look forward to making cloning obsolete.
A graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and physics and a Master of Science in physical organicchemistry before completing a Doctor of Philosophy in 1971.
He continued his education at Indiana University, where he completed a Master of Arts in botany in 1964, and a Doctor of Philosophy in organicchemistry in 1965. He attributes his success to good fortune and hard work, and hopes to see some of his patented compounds gain approval and reach market readiness in the coming years.
