Chrysophanol induces apoptosis and ferroptosis of gastric cancer cells by targeted regulation of mTOR

Chemical Biology and Drug Design

The present paper showed an apoptosis- and ferroptosis-inducing action of chrysophanol on gastric cancer cells. The tumour killing effects of chrysophanol possible owing to its targeted regulation on mTOR. Further investigations are required to confirm these results in vivo and a vast of studies are needed before the clinical use of chrysophanol in cancer treatment.

Mechanism analysis of Buyang Huanwu decoction in treating atherosclerosis based on network pharmacology and in vitro experiments

Chemical Biology and Drug Design

With network pharmacology, this study analyzed the biological functions the main bioactive components of Buyang Huanwu decoction (BYHWT) in treating atherosclerosis. The 325 targets of BYHWT was obtained, and 8 core targets were screened, including AKT, JUN, MAPK1, PIK3CA, EGFR, ESR1, SRC, and TP53. Molecular docking was then conducted to analyze the binding affinity between the active components of BYHWT and the core targets, and in vitro assays were applied to validate the function of baicalei

Triptolide restrains the growth, invasion, stemness, and glycolysis of non?small cell lung cancer cells by PFKFB2?mediated PI3K/AKT pathway

Chemical Biology and Drug Design

Triptolide restrains non-small cell lung cancer cell proliferation, invasion, stemness, and glycolysis in vitro, as well as reduces tumor growth in vivo, by PFKFB2-mediated PI3K/AKT pathway. Abstract Triptolide (TP) has been found to have anti-tumor effects. However, more potential molecular mechanisms of TP in the progression of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) deserve further investigation.
